In what has become an annual event, the Halifax County High School competition cheerleading squad will display its tumbling and precision routines October 19 at the high school gym.

The event is free and starts at 7:30 p.m., with the cheerleaders performing their 2009 competition routine in advance of the Western Valley District championships October 28.

The HCHS competition cheerleading squad has placed second in the district competition and has advanced to regional competition the past two years.

The HCHS jayvee cheerleaders and We've Got Rhythm Dance Academy will be performing at intermission, and DJ Shakespeare will serve as emcee for the evening.

Refreshments will be available in the lobby after the exhibition.
